Aquarium Service

Similar to other animals, aquariums thrive and achieve their brilliance through regular care.  Attention, knowledge, and a little TLC is what we at Tropical Underworld™ are trained to provide.

Many of the aquariums we manage receive bi-weekly or monthly service.  The precise frequency for normal aquarium service varies for every tank, each aquarium is distinctive in its own way.  It will vary depending on the type of aquarium you have (fresh water, brackish, marine, or reef), the quantity of fish, the size fish, the type of filtration, and the various species inhabiting your system.

An aquarium of any size, with an average amount of inhabitants, should generally be serviced on a monthly basis, assuming the filtration is adequate.  Reef tanks may require a little more care and time to thrive.

A typical service visit from Tropical Underworld™ includes the following:

• A visual inspection of all inhabitants
• Water analysis which tests for all pertinent by-products and elements
• Clean inside and outside glass or acrylic viewing panels
• Rock and decoration cleaning
• Algae and detritus (waste removal)
• Water change, usually 20%-30%
• Clean filter media and protein skimmer
• Pump and filter cartridge cleaning or replacement
• Necessary additives and media are added
• Deliver any goods and/or livestock
• Recommendations for your system and inhabitants
